NORTH OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 News ) - ABC 4 News is taking action and getting results for a Weber county man with a faulty home warranty. Monday we showed you George Parsons’s story.

He says he lost almost a thousand dollars on an extended home warranty from a company in New York City. Parsons says he got the run around when he made a claim on that policy.

So Mike Bachman of Mike Bachman Plumbing in Ogden saw that story and responded. He came out and fixed the leak in George's kitchen at no charge. Bachman says he's seeing more and more phony extended home warranty companies. Bachman says,” We would go out and do the work, then we'd never get paid. We would get taken or the people would get taken.”

George Parsons says,” It’s going to brighten my whole year. As a matter of fact I’m feeling less of a sting of that thousand dollars I lost.” George says Bachman is like a knight in shining armor. He says people in Utah don't need to be ripped off by bogus extended home warranty companies.

The Utah Better Business Bureau says to check out a company's track record before buying an extended home warranty. In addition, call the Utah Association of Realtors. They say that they oversee the Utah companies that offer extended home warranties.
