SEATTLE (AP) - An uncle and aunt of Josh Powell issued a statement saying there's no justification for the loss of his children, but Maurice and Patti Leach feel "this family tragedy was set into motion from the beginning due in part to the various questionable government agencies' practices, religious bias, the internet kangaroo courts, and sensationalized news media."

The Leaches say they had agreed to offer a "safe haven" for the two boys and that they had urged Josh Powell to present facts - no matter how disturbing - at the child custody hearing.

In the statement released Tuesday, they said they were left disillusioned with the legal system and feel government practices, religious bias, the Internet and news media circumvented due process.

How dare this evil piece of crap Steven Powell....go on national TV and soil the precious name & reputation of Susan Cox, when He & his twisted deranged son slaughtered her and still had her innocent blood dripping on their filthy hands while selling their stories suggesting in media interviews that Susan was “immoral“ or “mentally imbalanced“ and ran away with another man. There must be a special place in Hell for a murdering butcher father & son that would do that. Steven Powell should be put to death for that ALONE! This subhuman "thing" Steven Powell is the embodiment of pure, unadulterated evil.

Josh Powell is a LOSER EXTRODINARE!!! EVIL TO THE CORE! Deserves no less than to be cast into outer darkness. However, what I know to be true is this. That some day he will have to ask for the boys and their Mother's forgiveness. Knowing how they were, they will probably forgive him. They need to do that in order to progress further through eternity. God Bless them. I can't imagine what the poor excuse as a Father and Husband put them through. I can take solace in knowing that the boys and their Mother are back together again. God Bless them and all those who suffered through this ugly nightmare. May God bless the surviving family members on either side. May they someday come together in love and forgiveness.

The American way. It's not my fault, it must be the fault of someone else.

Nothing justifies the "loss" of the children, BUT... no, stop there. How about: Nothing justifies the murder of children. Period. If you want to blame someone, blame Josh Powell the murderer.

Seriously? This family tragedy was set into motion from the beginning due in part to the -gasp- family. You can't really say that there were no prior showings of his narcissistic tendencies. A sociopath is a sociopath. You might wish to put the blame off on everyone else to alleviate your own feelings about it, but I am related to one, and lived with her long enough to know it shows through deeds done. His father obviously also has metal issues as well. Who do you want to blame his on? Stop playing the blame game and work towards "fixing" these issues that you believed caused it. Try helping someone who can be helped. God bless the Cox family, and all the innocents involved in this and everywhere.
