Finally some snow! It's been weeks since we've seen any significant snowfall but on Saturday the white stuff finally flew. We even managed to get some lake effect set up to where we saw some decent snowfall in the valley. The 4" reported at the airport nearly DOUBLED the season total!
The trip up Little Cottonwood Canyon Saturday morning was a slow one but not because of the snow. Skiers packed up the gear and headed to the mountains to take advantage of the 6-9 inches of new snow that fell on the Cottonwood ski resorts.
We raced our two boys up to Alta for their first ski lessons. What a great day, the boys LOVED it and mom and dad loved watching them having fun. Now one thing I learned pretty quickly, skiing isn't cheap. Learning to ski isn't cheap either. I figured I was investing in my family's ability to have fun and enjoy our Utah winter. Not to mention, it's great exercise. At least that's what I was telling myself as the credit card was swiped!
The boys are pumped, they're ready for more snow and ready for more skiing. I have to say mom and dad were also bitten by the bug...and that's going to cost me! I finally feel like winter is here thanks to this recent snowfall. Let's hope it's just the beginning of a snowy stretch after our slow start to winter.
