Saturday's snow at the resorts (Curtis Ray, Curtis Ray)
That's my car, buried in the center of the picture. (Curtis Ray, Curtis Ray)
Wow, was that a crazy snowstorm for the mountains.  FEET of snow fell, with Solitude and Deer Valley getting close to 30" from this storm.  Hundreds of people, including myself, were stranded up the Little Cottonwood on Saturday night because of an avalanche across the road.  Avalanche conditions remain high to extreme after this round of heavy snow.  The rain changed to snow along the Wasatch Front as well, with little to nothing near Draper, but up to 8" around Bountiful.  Generally, 3-6" fell around the Salt Lake Valley.  Tonight, with temperatures dropping into the 20s, some icy spots could develop.  Another storm will move toward Utah on Monday.  It will be a cloudy day, with some rain and snow developing along the Wasatch Front through the afternoon.  This storm isn't nearly as strong as the previous storm.  Snow could accumulate 1-3" overnight Monday into Tuesday morning.  The mountains could see up to 8".  This storm will affect the entire state again, with southern Utah seeing rain and higher elevation snow developing Monday as well.  The storm will clear out by Tuesday morning.  Besides a weak cold front moving through the state late Thursday into Friday morning, the weather will be quiet and mild through the weekend.
