SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - ABC 4 News has obtained Josh Powell's last and very disturbing psychological evaluation. I want to warn you - before you read on - this is adult themed, graphic in nature and will most likely make you angry, sick and possibly offended.
Dr. James Manley with Pacific Psychology Services in Tacoma, Washington wrote the confidential psychological review. As part of that review he was to look at "approximately 400 images" that were found on Josh Powell's computers. Many were cartoon characters we all know, but what they were doing was nothing to laugh at.
The images included characters from The Simpsons, The Flintstones, Jungle Book, Superman, The Rugrats, Cat Woman and Spongebob - just to name a few. The characters were shown in sexual activities like sodomy, fisting, incest and group sex. Many of the images depicted adult on children sex acts. Dr. Manley called Josh's possession and approval of the images "concerning."
A few images included captions. One between a girl and a man reads, "Come on Daddy, come on, let me finish what I started." And another between a mother and a son says, "Mommy it feels good." Dr. Manley says the "collection of images" suggests Josh has "a high degree of interest" in this type of activity.
Dr. Manley goes on to say, "While the drawings may not be illegal, per se, they were very suggestive of a global approval of sex between an adult and a minor." And he wrapped up his review by saying, "...the reviewed images indicate someone's fantasy-laden view of having sex with children. This is not a healthy parenting perception."
Dr. Manely's last paragraph in this evaluation says they need more information about Josh before saying he could provide a stable, nurturing and safe environment for Charlie and Braden. That is why a pyscho-sexual evaluation was ordered. But as we all know now - Josh took his life and the life of his sons before that could happen.
