This guy couldn't hold Jacques Cousteau's jock strap, never mind comparing the two. Jacques literally invented scuba.

Why didn't this article mention the white sharks that have been killed and maimed by Fischer and his crew? Why didn't they mention the pre-existing data that his team is simply redoing? Just because it is on television now doesn't mean it's new. They like to say things such as "this is the only way to save the shark, we have to do it and no one else will." Those are offensive, straight lies. Scientists have been tagging and tracking white shark migrations for decades WITHOUT HURTING THE SHARKS. Fischer doesn't give those scientists credit or admit that hooking, dragging, and pulling out of water the biggest sharks he can find is all for sensationalism and ratings...i.e., money.

Clearly the writer did not do their research on Mr. Fischer or they would have found a great deal of controversy, including the maiming and death of sharks even after he was made aware of the risks. Not to mention his all high and mighty conservation attitude when it comes to newspapers and TV shows, but has yet to make any significant effort outside of his media spotlight. He hasn't pulled any of his available strings to stem the ongoing slaughter of sharks. He hasn't written any letters to any government officials demanding action when his tagged sharks were caught and gutted illegally. He hasn't created, supported, or signed any big petitions or actions demanding global action. Jacques Cousteau was a leader in conservation and always put his subjects first. His actions in front of the camera were a fraction of his overall efforts. I can only imagine how insulted the Cousteau family must feel to have Fischer likened to such a historical figure.
