In 1833 God revealed that He created our US Constitution by men He raised up for that purpose, and that the Constitution was for all mankind to be used with holy and just principles. (Doctrines and Covenants 98, and 101:77-80) (From the Salt Lake City, Utah based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, lds.org) The second amendment that allows gun ownership means that God saw it as a good thing. We are the protection for America; we are our country's unpaid army, an unnumbered army to protect us from abuse by our government, and most often a preventative to keep us safe from foreign attack and takeover. We CANNOT allow any president to change our Constitution on gun rights because it does not solve the problem; and if allowed it would make us more vulnerable to violence within our nation and foreign; and our government would continue to change the Constitution and take away other rights we have. Even assault rifles must be allowed. An army coming in with big guns would not be fearful of handguns; we must be able to have similar power. Background checks and ban on clips solve nothing. The solution to gun use and violence is to lift up the Ten Commandments and prayer. Since prayers and commandments were taken out of schools in 1963 we have seen greater violence.

It's a sad story what happened in new hope but when someone can tell me and prove to me that guns are loading and pulling the trigger themselves with out the help of a human being either it be by remote or physically pulling the trigger then I will stand behind the president and gun control. But since that's not the factor there is something that needs to be done about who is mentally safe to own guns and that they have proper training to own a weapon and no who to trust and not to trust to know we're they are in the house.

The old saying " if guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns" has never been more appropriate. If they want to outlaw guns does not mean the mentaly impared or "bad guys" wont get guns. Right now marijuana is is against the law. How may people (every day) smoke pot. It doesnt stop them because its illeagal. No......think before banning a weapon and thinking it will make an ounce of difference.
