SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - You may remember last week ABC 4's Brian Carlson played an April Fools’ prank on the Utah Warriors rugby team. Now they're paying him back. They're getting ready for a game Saturday. Friday morning they're roughing Brian up at their practice at the Salt Lake Indoor Soccer Fields.

The Utah Warriors are the state's first professional rugby team and compete in the Rugby Super League. This is the Warriors first season. So far the team is beating league expectations. According to Warriors owner Sean Whalen, other rugby clubs thought the Warriors would be lucky to win one game all season. Right now the Warriors are 2-1, and tied for 2nd place.

Warrior players come from all over the world including Samoa, Tonga, England and Zimbabwe, but all of them now live in Utah, in fact a good number of them grew up in Salt Lake City.

If you want to see the team in action the Utah Warriors will take on the Old Puget Sound Beach Dogs, Saturday at 2:00 p.m., at McCarthy Field, 98 S. Wasatch Drive in Salt Lake City, located just Southwest of Primary Children’s Medical Center.
