BOISE, Idaho (ABC 4 Sports) - Utah State fans flooded downtown Boise Friday night for a pep rally before Saturday's Potato Bowl against Toledo.
"It's so great to see this many fans out here," said Aggie quarterback Chuckie Keeton. "They've come a long way from Logan, and I know they're going to pack [Bronco Stadium] tomorrow."
The game is expected to be a sellout, mostly packed with Aggie fans.
"It's the perfect storm for us right now," added head coach Gary Andersen. "It's been a tremendous season. We've won a [WAC] championship, the fans can all be here, it's not too cold, and tomorrow will be the climax."
From a battle of the bands to a dance-off between the mascots, Utah State dominated the festivities Friday night. Now, they hope to dominate on the field Saturday. Utah State has won only one bowl game in their history, and that was 19 years ago.
"Thank you so much for coming out," cornerback Will Davis told the crowd of several hundred. "We love you, and go Aggies all day, baby!"
Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Boise.
