" Legislators supporting the immigration package said HB116 was a compassionate counter-balance to a strict enforcement bill - modeled on Arizona's controversial 2010 law - that would require police to detain anybody arrested for a serious crime who cannot prove their legal presence in the U.S." "Compassionate" my ass! We come to the US legally. When status is lost we are rallied for deportation. Tell me how in the same state you have all these colloquia on how to make comfortable those who came to the country with no papers at all. Tell me how you can chase after others and say your time is up when you still have truck loads of deportable "illegals" waiting to see if you pass the laws. The backlash is well placed for a bill that insults the efforts of those who come to the US and try to do the right thing! Clearly it is better to come to the US by road or land vessel than it is by anything aerial!
