EUREKA, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A large brush fire burned near Eureka in Juab County on Wednesday.

A large plume of smoke could be seen from miles away in Utah County.

Crews were working to contain the fire late Wednesday afternoon.

The Utah Highway Patrol closed Highway 6 leading into Eureka so crews could reach the blaze.

The fire was listed at 20 acres and growing around 6:00 in the evening.

The fire moved more away from the town of Eureka, but is burning about one mile away from an active mine and is threatening mining structures.

There is no estimate on a time frame for containment.  But a local says the fire is human caused.

Air tankers have been ordered from nearby states because none are available locally.
