WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Police say the man that was a victim of a carjacking Monday night was responding to a massage ad on Craigslist.
Officers say it was the second night in a row that 21-year-old Shawlee Ama jacked the cars of people responding to his Craigslist ad.
The two victims communicated with Ama through text messages expecting to find a female masseuse, but instead found him holding a gun.
They were then told to take money out of an ATM, but Monday’s victim stopped the robbery by crashing into a police car.
Ama faces kidnapping and robbery charges.
