Suspect arrested in fatal Kaysville shooting

KAYSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Davis county police confirmed Sunday morning that a suspect wanted in a fatal shooting Saturday evening has been arrested and booked into the Davis County Jail.
Police say that at around 7:45 on Saturday evening gun shots were reportedly heard at the Farr West motel in Kaysville.
When officers arrived police discovered the deceased body of 52-year-old Gregory Nance.
Police began to search for a person of interest in the shooting, Gregory Nance’s son, Joseph Nance.
Police from multiple agencies began an all night search for Nance.
Police located Nance in a wooded area, hiding in a bunker in Layton.
Joseph was taken by police without incident.
During an interview Nance admitted to police that he confronted his father about an earlier domestic violence situation that occurred between his parents.
The firearm police believed to be used in the case has not been located.
The Davis County Search and Rescue team and local police are asking Kaysville residents to be on a close lookout for a black revolver.
Police are asking that if the weapon is found to contact the Kaysville Police Department immediately.
Joseph Nance was booked into the Davis County Jail on charges of homicide.
