CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) - A judge has postponed sentencing for a Cedar City man who pleaded guilty to first-degree felony attempted murder in a Christmas Eve workplace stabbing.
Curtis Lydell Smith pleaded guilty last month in state court.
Judge Michael Westfall decided Tuesday that Smith won't be sentenced until after he receives a psychological evaluation.
The 29-year-old Smith was accused of stabbing co-worker Charles Bradford twice in the chest at South Central Communications telephone company in Cedar City, then walking out of the office and driving away. Police arrested Smith a short while later.
Smith could face a prison term as long as three years to life. Court records show sentencing has been rescheduled for May 25.
