OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) Racist and offensive graffiti have upset Ogden residents, and ABC 4 is taking action to get it erased.
A frustrated and angry ABC4 viewer sent us an email when she noticed racial slurs painted on the walls of the AT&T facility located at 700 North Washington Blvd. in Harrisville.
The city of Harrisville said this graffiti has been a problem for years now.
City officials say this building has served as a gang affiliated bulletin board for several years and now one concerned resident says this last tag is the final straw.
The chief of police of Harrisville said that it is difficult for his officers to patrol the area because of its location
Since the building is private property, the city mandates that it is the responsibility of AT&T to clean up the graffiti.
An AT&T spokesmen said, “AT&T takes this situation very seriously we plan to remove the graffiti as soon as possible and we are looking at several options to protect the building.”
AT&T has said that one of the plans to protect the building is to put a fence around the building.
