ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - A Michigan man has been arrested after police say he stood in the middle of Interstate 15 in southern Utah and tried to hit passing cars.
St. George police say an officer who responded about 2 a.m. Friday swerved to avoid the man in the freeway but struck him in the hand with a side mirror.
Police say that when they approached the man, he walked toward them with a 3-foot-long metal object and told them to kill him.
Authorities say the man started hitting a police car with his weapon and then charged officers.
They finally subdued him with a Taser.
Daniel Lee Brown of Ann Arbor was taken to the hospital and booked on suspicion of aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
