SALT LAKE (ABC 4 News) - "The List" of purported illegal immigrants is also catching the
attention of Governor Gary Herbert.

He's now ordering some state agencies to see if "The List" was leaked from their records.

The governor, though, isn't the only elected official speaking out.

Utah State Representative Neil Hansen isn't just concerned about how
"The List" was put together.

He also worries that it will just fan the immigration flames higher and could even lead to vigilantes.

He wondered out loud to ABC 4,

“Does it then become an uprising between illegals and the legals?
I mean you see a civil war all over again. Is that what we want in
our country?"

Hansen wants Attorney General Mark Shurtleff to get involved.

"I think the attorney general probably out to look at the list and determine whether laws have been broken."

And while Hansen is calling on the attorney general to step in, he's calling out those who made "The List."

He wants them to step forward.

"Here's somebody accusing people of being illegals and yet they’re
not willing to put their name on this. It almost seems cowardice."

ABC 4 News has also learned the governor will hold his long awaited immigration summit on July 20th.

It will be interesting to see if he adds "The List" to his list of issues to be addressed.

Im from Arizona. Thanks to the new strict Immigration Law illegals are leaving Arizona, but the damage what they have caused is massive. Broken state, ruined economy, many stolen vehicles, stolen identities, broken homes, drug problems. But they don't go home, they are moving to other states, to your state as well. Don't let them ruin your state like they did to Arizona. Push your state rep to make a change. Google this: NUMBERSUSA. Once you are registered, go to the "action buffet" to send FREE faxes now. They are all typed up and ready to go, you just need to click your mouse to send. Forward this to everyone you know.

Its about time someone did something, even if its just making a list! When are the people that are responsible for securing our borders going to make a list and act!Start by demanding that employers pay a competitive wage to these people instead of slave wages!the problem is not that these people are here,it's that they are being exploited at the expense of all of society. We don't seem to mind buying goods that are produced by companies that have abandoned american workers for slave workers in other countries and filled their pockets with the so called profits. We are all being exploited in this situation, and getting angry at the hispanic community is not the answer to our problem. Lets start working on the real problems we have, and rejoicing in what good things these people have to offer.

Oh thats nice, is this the list Adolf Hitler once had for Jews in Germany that he wanted "deported". It sure does seems that way. It's sad to see the route this country is taking. Specially Utah that was settled by the Mormons that are suppose to love one as to another. Sure its the law but once it was the law to kill a Mormon and a Jew. So I hope those laws were carried out bak then...cause according to some people it the right thing to do.

Our elected officials can solve this problem. Follow the law and send trespassers to jail or back to where they came from. We are NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR GREEDY AND POOR DECISIONS!!! IF they can't do their job time for new people in office. Lots of people need jobs.

Reminder to all. Utah has a "Whistle Blowers Law" that protects persons that can disclose information when in fear of retributions. This release of information fits the law. Law breakers, trespassers etc. Why are we concerned about criminals when a honest law abiding citizen is afraid to speak?

I think the person or persons who made the list and did what they did should be punished for it because what they did is illegal also , they would not want to be spied on and then be reported like this, they would be crying about how illegal this is and that their rights were being infringed upon.

Corrections; I can't believe this is such an issue. If they are illegal they shouldn't be here. Didn't you hear.... we paid out over 800 thousand tax dollars on pregnant illegal mothers last year. Are you kidding? I can't believe our country has come to this. It's sad! All these politicians shouldn't be worried about where the list came from rather what the hell they are going to do about correcting the issue.

If the Federal Government would simply enforce the law this problem would go away, not to mention this ridiculous notion of civil war. Also, why would the person who distributed the list come forward? When distributing a list is a larger crime than stealing public services, healthcare, education, etc. there is no reason to come forward, I swear, I'm living in bizarro world. ABC news is a joke.
