Mother and son injured in St. George motorcycle crash

ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say a mother and her son were critically injured in a motorcycle crash Monday evening.

The St. George Police Department says officers responded to the scene of a crash at 200 North 100 West where a 63-year-old woman driving a Chevy HHR had gone through a stop sign and collided with a motorcycle ridden by a 42-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son.

Police say St. George Fire, and Dixie Ambulance personnel responded to provide immediate medical assistance to two individuals, who were flown to a Las Vegas hospital in critical condition. Police say the woman and her son suffered extensive head and body injuries.

Police say the HHR driver was cited for failure to stop and released at the scene.

Accident investigators determined that alcohol or drugs were not involved in the accident.
