55 year old Oknom Shim-Han was hiking with family and friends on Tuesday, July 10th. She became separated from the group, which called Unified Search and Rescue. Rescue teams searched on the ground, while two helicopters took to the air. The rescue was called off at 10pm because of darkness. Wednesday morning, crews began searching in a grid like pattern with air support from a helicopter. But it was a family of hikers that heard a woman's faint yell. Alley and Olivia Eriksen were hiking not far from where rescuers were searching. Shim-Han had gone off trail by about 50 yards. She was hunkered down in thick brush. She was thirsty, but healthy and in good spirits.
Shim-Han was treated at the scene, and went home with her husband who was relieved she's alive.
