PINE VALLEY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Authorities uncovered an astonishing amount of marijuana plants and seedlings in Washington County on Wednesday.

In an abandoned, remote location, officers discovered an estimated 8,700 marijuana plants and 2,600 seedlings.

If the plants had been more mature, officers say they would have been worth millions of dollars.

The discovery was the second of its kind in the last two weeks.

It's called Project Overgrow...pot smokers and dealers conspired some years ago to plant pot *everywhere*...they win, YOU, LE, lose. Next??!!!

The mega-minds in our government have been 'solving' the drug problem for over thirty years now. What may perhaps not be so obvious is that marijuana is integrated into our culture and economy deeper than most folks realize...how much $ is allocated all across this country annually to enforce drug laws?...how many law enforcement jobs would go away tomorrow if just marijuana was legalized, taxed and regulated?...how many ONDCP jobs would go away?....DEA?...how many 'drug treatment' centers would fold because their steady stream of COURT ORDERED customers dries up? Think about ALL of the folks on both sides of this issue who DO NOT want the drug problem 'solved'...drug dealers don't want it solved either...they're pleased as punch that we're all stooopid enough to provide them the environment they need to flourish and get rich everyday. For all intents and purposes, MJ is legal in 13 states...med MJ...anyone with any sense knows that it ain't hard to get a scrip for pot in those states...anyone with any sense knows that med MJ laws are simply a foot in the door for full legalization. My point being that in those states where pot is more or less legal, the state continues to operate, there is no mass insanity...the entire populations of these states did not immediately start using cannabis....in short, it has been pretty much a non-event. The 'war' on cannabis continues because of myth, 'morality' and money. Let me close by saying that the war on drugs has cost thousands more lives than it has 'saved'...and I say that without any research or references...prove me wrong...you can't.

There is a solution to the same old. SOLVING THE DRUG PROBLEM 1. The government provides drugs for FREE. 2. Drugs available at local clinics with prescriptions for those drugs which now require prescriptions. These drugs would require an addiction reduction regiment - "gradual reduction in the quantity of drug used." 3. Recreational drugs such as marijuana, would require attendance to an educational program before each dose provided. 4. Housing, food, education, and health care provided if necessary to stop the usage. BENEFITS 1. Lives saved. 2. Trillions of dollars saved by not having to pay for hospital care, cops, jails, lawyers, judges, probation officers, and crimes committed to obtain drugs. 3. More people being productive citizens.
