Man Charged with Two Counts of Aggravated Murder

CEDAR CITY, Utah. (ABC 4 News)- A suspect was charged in relation to the deaths of two adults.

On Wednesday, around 5:00 p.m., 54-year-old Thad Robertson was charged with two counts of aggravated murder.

A charge of aggravated murder may carry a penalty up to death.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on February 15, 2013, the Cedar City Police were called to a home to investigate a possible suicidal person. Police found Robertson outside the home, and detained him.

When they entered the home, police discovered a deceased adult male. The victim had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was later identified as 52-year-old Jeffery Lane Hardy.

59-year-old Diann Bailey was also found in the home. She had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Bailey was treated locally and then airlifted to IMC in Murray, Utah. She later died on February 19 as a result of her injuries.

The Cedar City Police Department initially detained Robertson with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a deadly weapon by a restricted person and possession of drug paraphernalia.
