ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A 62-year-old man died Thursday after a motorcycle accident.
According to officials, Evert Dykhuizen of Hurricane was traveling northbound on I-15 near milepost 8. Witnesses stated the motorcycle went off the left shoulder and into the median, hitting the cable barrier.
No other vehicles were involved.
Investigators say that there was a motorcycle helmet at the scene of the crash, but it is believed at this point that the rider was not wearing the helmet and that it may have been attached to the motorcycle.
Dykhuizen was transported to St. George Hospital, where he later died.
