SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – State officials are calling it a good day for Utah’s economy.
The promise of 1,500 new jobs is making state officials optimistic that Utah is recovering from the economic recession.
“This is a great day for Utah,” Governor Gary Herbert said during a news conference at the state capitol.
The fanfare was for a Fortune 500 company that plans to expand its current operations.
Computer software giant Adobe Systems Incorporated plans to build a new technology campus similar to their existing one in Orem.
It could create up to one thousand highly skilled jobs.
“It will be skills in finance in my organization, skills in sales, lot of skills in engineering in the Omniture business,” said CFO Mark Garrett.
Jobs with Adobe Systems pay two and a half times the state average.
Those jobs aren't available yet but company officials say they're always looking for help.
“We're looking for the highest quality of talent we can, bright, energetic, people that enjoy themselves at work but work hard,” said Mike Herring.
