SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah Governor Gary Herbert has been touring United States' bases in Iraq and Kuwait.
He has been visiting Utah troops to show his support for their dedication to their country. During an interview with ABC 4, Herbert said that his visit has increased his appreciation for U.S. troops after witnessing what their daily lives are like.
"They're very proud of their service. They're honored to be here." Herbert said of the Utah soldiers. "These are very difficult circumstances. This is not easy, but their representing themselves, their families and our state very well."
Herbert isn't the only governor visiting the troops. He is accompanied by governors from Tennessee, Nevada, and Kentucky. The Department of Defense is paying for the trip.
