SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Five Utah locations of Ruby Tuesday restaurants have closed. Park City remains the only franchise from the restaurant chain still operating in the state.

ABC 4 confirmed that all of the other five stores, including Draper, Logan, St. George, West Jordan and West Valley City have closed as of Friday January 28.

That means roughly 200 employees have lost their jobs.

A sign posted on the front door of the West Valley City location near the Maverik Center read:

"Sorry for the inconvenience. All Ruby Tuesday in Utah are closed except Park City. Any information please call 1-800-325-0755. Thank You."

Ruby Tuesday was one of the few restaurants that did not charge an arm and a leg for a meal in Utah. The Park City restaurant probably attracts all of the ski and summmer visitors who do not want to pay Park City prices. My understanding is that the Park City franchise OWNS the building in which is the restaurant so probably can withstand the recession a little better than those paying outrageous rents. The one negative comment is that the food Quality has deteriorated in the past 2-3 years in Park City. Wish that were not the case because it used to get my business at least once or twice a week.
