LEHI, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Monday the first FrontRunner trail rode through Utah county.
45 miles of new FrontRunner tracks will be opening in the next six months, adding onto the lines already running from Ogden to Salt Lake City. Monday UTA begins testing to make sure everything is going to work.
This summer you will see trains on the tracks in Utah County, but it will just be testing the line with the the train.
They will start slow, but then get the trains really going and this fall they will reach their maximum speed of 79 miles per hour.
When FrontRunner South opens in December, there will be eight new stops; Murray, South Jordan, Draper, Lehi, American For, Orem and Provo.
FrontRunner South will start carrying passengers December 10, 2012.
