BRIGHTON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - It is officially ski season in Utah. This morning the first Utah resort opened to crowds of snow lovers ready to hit the slopes.
People were in line to get a ride on Brighton's three open ski lifts early this morning.
Alisa Evans was the first in line. Evans said, "We've got the first chair of the season in the entire state of Utah. That is pretty rad."
Rose Struble was right up there with Evans. Evans said, "I'm ready to go from about Halloween on. I'm very excited to be here."
The feeling was shared by everyone on the mountain this morning, they have been waiting for this moment since last year's snow melted away.
Forrest MacDonald said, "We have been waiting seven months for this. I'm beside myself!"
This is a good day for the snow lovers and a great day for Utah's economy.
Jared Winkler from Brighton said, "This is big for Brighton, I think it is big for all of our economy everywhere. It gets the winter season kicked off."
Brighton is open and Solitude opens on the 14th. For the entire list of opening dates, visit
