FAIRVIEW, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The mayor of Fairview announced that a mandatory evacuation has been lifted for his town, and that part of Highway 89 had been reopened in Sanpete County.

Highway 89 was still closed from State Road 6 to Mount Pleasant.

Mayor Jonathon Benson said the evacuation order would be lifted as of noon Wednesday.

The Wood Hollow Fire has already burned more than 46,000 acres and destroyed 56 structures, most of them homes.

One person died in the fire, although the individual's identity has not yet been released.

The fire began on Saturday, and was most likely sparked by downed power lines, although the exact cause was still under investigation.

Crews had hoped to gain significant containment on Tuesday, but shifting winds threatened Fairview, Indianola and Birdseye by late afternoon.

The fire also spread into the southern part of Utah County.
