SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - ABC 4 first broke the news that Apple and City Creek had inked a deal back in May, Tuesday, Reporter Brian Carlson we got his hands on documents that prove store construction is moving along.

Since Brian Carlson broke the story of Apple coming to City Creek, Apple hasn't said much about it. There's been a lot of speculation, even rumors it may not happen. Tuesday Carlson obtained evidence that plans to bring an Apple store to City Creek are not only alive and well; it's close to being finished.

If you're excited about the Apple store coming to City Creek, you don't have to wait much longer.

"It's wrapping up pretty good, they got most of the stuff in," said Ron Walker, Certified Fire Protection.

Tuesday Carlson spoke with crews who've worked on the new store's fire safety system and they said they're almost finished.

"I'd say we have 10% percent more to go and we're done over there," said Brandon Rennells, Certified Fire Protection.

Online records show their trade isn't the only ones doing recent work on the Apple City Creek store. Plumbing and heating is also moving closer to completion. But you still won't hear any of that from City Creek.

"Is that true?” Carlson asked City Creek officials back in May.

“We haven't announced any additional retailers," said Dee Brewer, Marketing Director.

ABC 4 is told Apple will be located near Nordstrom's, specifically next to the Art of Shaving store opening soon on the City Creek's lower level. But so far construction workers are some of the few to go inside.

"What do you think of the place?” asked Brian Carlson.

“Nice, nice, very nice," said Rennells.

With the holiday shopping season just around the corner, your turn may not be far away.

Again, neither Apple or City Creek has confirmed the store is coming, much less when it's opening, but online records and crews working inside the store itself - all claim it's coming fast.
