SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A deputy county sheriff is charged with criminal mischief.
Guy Adams who is second in command with the Carbon County Sheriff's department was charged in Febuary with three counts of criminal mischief.

Two of the charges are Class A misdemeanors and the third charges is a Class B misdemeanor.

The charges stem from an incident at the Premier Vehicle detail shop in South Salt Lake.
Adams is accused of keying three vehicles while he and Sheriff Jim Cordova were there for work on their own vehicles.

"We believe we have probale cause to warrant the filing of charges and the quantity and quality of the evidence is such that there is reasonable likelihood of success at trial," says Salt Lake District Attorney Sim Gill.

The shop works closely with law enforcement throughout the state.
After he was accused of the crime, Adams, according to the court documents denied any wrongdoing.

According to court documents Adams told his boss, Sheriff James Cordova: "I don't think I did ... I don't remember."

But Gill says surveillance at the detail the detail shop caught him in the act.

"He was the only one there where the vehicles were," Gill says. "There was no one in that secure area for 24-hours. He is seen with a hand motion going up and down by those vehicles."

After Adams was confronted by Sheriff Cordova court documents say he told the owner of the shop "He would pay the damages to make it go away."
Adams is currently on administrative leave in Carbon County.
