CHALK CREEK, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Sevier County Sheriff's Office says the bodies of three people were recovered from a small plane crash site in central Utah on Monday.
Investigators say the plane took off from Fillmore and disappeared on November 25th.
Searchers found the missing plane on Sunday, seven days after last contact with the pilot.
The past seven days have been excruciating for family and friends of the victims who had no idea what happened until Sunday morning.
The Pilot, Matthew Ahrens invited Trista Meyer and her 9-year-old daughter Shyann Lenz for a Thanksgiving weekend with family.
On their flight back back officials say Matthew landed the 1982 Piper Archer in Fillmore to fill up.
The last time the plane was seen on radar was November 25th at noon.
Officials said it appeared the plane went nose-first into the side of a mountain.
On Sunday, everyone on board was found dead, including two dogs that were on board.
It's a huge loss to family and friends, who are now coping with the sudden and unexpected loss.
The National Transportation and Safety Board is checking into the crash to find out what made the plane go down.
