SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Even though Florida and Oklahoma played for college football's national championship Thursday night, Utah fans fell as if they should have had a say in whose number one.
Many Utes fans say they were ripped off after going 13-0 this past season. The Utah Attorney General still could sue the BCS because of possible violation of antitrust laws.
The BCS is prepared for a legal challenge from Mark Shurtleff. Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford who oversees the BCS says, “We’ve attempted to make every effort to make certain any structure of the BCS is within the antitrust laws"
For now, Shurtleff says he is weighing his options. Mark Shurtleff says, “I think it is clearly worth looking into and I think we have a duty and a responsibility to look into it. “
Swofford proved not to be much of a Utes fan earlier this week by saying, “Prior to the BCS, Utah would not have had the stage provided to show the nation what it did.” Swofford says in 2012, it's possible that the BCS could expand or realign the number of conferences with automatic bids.
