SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - You are hopefully taking a break after your holiday cooking, while it was definitely overwhelming can you imagine cooking for 6,000 thousand people? They did that Thursday at Little America.

Thanksgiving inside Little America's kitchen means business.

Chef Bernhard Götz has been working Little America's kitchen for eight years. His staff was very busy Thursday, "I have about 110 people in the kitchen alone ... because we have housekeeping helping out, engineering, my kids are here too. I make them work."

The planning started in September; the menus, the ordering and finally today after hours of work the finished product.

There's a lot of food!

4,000 pounds of turkey.
4,000 pounds of mashed potatoes.
2,000 pounds of sweet potatoes.
800 pounds of fresh salmon.
600 pounds of chicken breast.

That's just the start of the food list!

Chef Gotz is so thrilled to be serving the 6,000 people planning to spend their holiday at the hotel, a dinner that has become a tradition for many families.

Chef Gotz said, "Sometimes you have one two generations sitting there and it's gotta be the food."

So Thursday is busy for the chef, but when does he enjoy his turkey dinner?

Chef Gotz said, "Tomorrow. I don't want to see another turkey tonight. That's for sure."
