There are numerous solutions to prevent slime in ice machines. The best solution, and one that is not too expensive, is to use a product manufactured by BioZone Scientific International that they call IceZone. This company also makes the Luminice ice machine sanitation system that Manitowoc sells. IceZone is chemical-free, and has been tested by 3rd party independent labs to inhibit growth of slime. If a restaurant cannot find the time to clean their ice machine to prevent slime, they should install an IceZone!

Did ABC 4 news even have the right to collect bags of ice from the ice machines and where the owners even aware of their investigation? I have been going to European Pizza Deli for over 4 years and so have my friends and family. We absolutely love the atmosphere we love the food and service most of all we love how the place is cleaned. I know for a fact the owner takes really great care of his restaurant thats his livelihood and he doesnt mess around. I take my child over there and we drinked from the ice machines for over 4 years .....so if it had the possibility of this bacteria making me sick well I am still alive and kicking. This just proves that ABC news couldnt have accessed the franchise kitchen because of their rules. So they went after the little guys... Where is Restaurant Impossible and Robert Irvine to show ABC news which restaurant chains to go after where they had real problems. One example rat/mouse droppings..... I know that my family and friends will still be going here because we are asolutely sure that those tests were tampered with and the ice is totally clean...

I have been going with my kids to European Pizza since it has opened.... NEVER gotten sick and not dead from bacteria... I hate the fact that the Owners wore not told what was going on before the cameras started. I would advised to maybe to a better research who knows how this research and testing was done. FYI bacteria grown in water as the temparature rises from frozed to room temperature. When I saw this footage I was soooo upset ever since I have been in Utah I have been privleged to everyone around me supporting local business what has happend... I was wondering why non of the big food chain resaurants wore included in this... just maybe because of big corparate Lawyers.

To Melinda, I don't know what you are talking about in regards to Duchesne Water. I have been through the purifying plant, they are more strict in their filtration than Federal standards require. Camper World is right by Starvation Resevoir, maybe that is where you are getting your fish smell from. I don't live in Duchesne but I visit quite often, and I will actually drink the water right from the tap. In my home, (not in Duchesne) I will only use a water filtration system.

So thrilled to see somebody checking out the ice machines in restaurants and fast food places. I WANT to know which places to AVOID!! Can somebody do a story about why the water in Duchesne, UT, Duchesne County, especially at CamperWorld Lakeside (just out of town) TASTES AND SMELLS LIKE FISH??!! We have noticed that water everywhere in Duchesne is like that!! Thanks for protecting the public!! Do more checks of fast food places. I'd NEVER eat the Golden Corral chocolate fountains ANYWHERE!! I have watched children (not supervised) touch the chocolate, lick their fingers or the food they dipped and dip it back in!!! I've reported it numerous times at every Golden Corral I eat at, because I've witnessed it at ALL OF THEM!!!

Why go after the restaurant proprietors like a pit bull? They had no clue about their ice. Just educate them and tell them you'll be checking back later. If you want to start checking for bacteria, check the top of the soda can you're drinking out of.

Don't go to Golden Corral on Redwood and 90th. Their employees have used their hands to scoop the ice into your drinking glasses, instead of using a metal scoop. Very poor health training there, so beware!
