Fire threatens homes near Wanship

WANSHIP, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A wildfire threatened homes near Wanship on Wednesday.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, the Old Lincoln Fire burned more than 50 acres of mountain grass by 3:00 p.m., and prompted some evacuations.

The North Summit fire department was battling the fire and a reverse 911 call was sent to local residents.

The evacuations in Wanship are concentrated on the 1600 block of West Hoytsville Road to the north.

About ten homes were threatened.

The fire was traveling east where it was expected to meet Hoytsville Road.

By late Wednesday evening, crews got the fire under control and the evacuation order was lifted.

No structures were burned in the fire.

The cause was under investigation.
