Woman killed by officer linked to Murray robbery

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – A woman who was shot and killed by a South Salt Lake Police Officer Wednesday afternoon was believed to be an armed robbery suspect.

As of Wednesday night, police had not released the woman’s identity.

The woman was a suspect in the armed robbery of Scaddy’s in Murray on Saturday night. She is believed to have been helped by another suspect, 40-year-old Sandra Chotia-Thompson.

According to Salt Lake City Police, Chotia-Thompson is considered armed and dangerous.

Officers working leads on the Murray robbery were led to the 900 block of Lake Street. Police said the unidentified woman tried to run over and officer. The officer shot and killed the woman inside a truck.

Police have not released details on the relationship between the deceased and Chotia-Thompson.

Anyone with information on Chotia-Thompson’s whereabouts is asked to call Salt Lake City Police.
