SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - On snowy days like Wednesday UDOT reported dozens of accidents on the roads, but icy snowy roads aren't always the biggest issue. Sometimes drivers themselves can cause dangerous winter driving conditions.

When the weather outside is frightful, driving in Utah can be equally as scary.

"It's definitely a lot of work," said CJ Connor, UDOT plow driver.

One person who understands is UDOT Plow Driver CJ Connor. Connor told ABC 4 some days you never know what to expect.

"You never really know when it's going to snow," said Connor.

Sometimes Mother Nature isn't the worst enemy. Connor said many times its the drivers who present the danger. He said nearly half the cars out there try to pass the plows or weave in and out around them.

"It just seems like we're in their way and they just want to get around," said Connor.

He said one way to avoid crashes is simply to let Connor and his crew clear the road.

"If everybody just slows back and just remembers, we're not out here for us, we're out here to clear the road so everybody can travel safer," Connor said.
