WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) Two suspects stole the cash register of a West Jordan Mexican grocery store Friday night. At about 8 p.m., two Hispanic men walked into La Herradura at 1626 West 7800 South. One of the men brandished a handgun, demanding the money in the register. When the clerk refused to open the register, the two opted to take it.

The two apparently had a taxi waiting for them as a getaway car. The taxi dropped the two off at 3500 S. Bangerter Highway. Police later found the empty cash register nearby. Police say the taxi driver was not acting as an accomplish and only drove the two suspect out of their own safety.

Investigators say they have several witnesses and are confident that they will find the two men within the week.
