This has nothing to do with SB81, “Racial Profiling” or anything other then she broke into this country illegally and was caught by US Border Patrol Agents and failed to appear before a Immigration Court Judge. When she was legally stopped by a law enforcement officer he ran her name for warrants a standardized procedure with EVERY law enforcement agency in the US. It returned a hit and she was taken into custody for her warrant. Whats the problem? Should we turn a blind eye to every single law broken by those who are in this country illegally? Should they be treated then everyone who is legally in this country? I think the latino community should wake up and realize although they are welcome in this country, we ONLY welcome them here legally or they can and will be sent back where they are from.

Occam, As to the particulars of this case, I don't know enough to comment. But racial profiling is a tool that is just common sense. White males are racially profiled as serial killers, because most serial killers are white males of a particular age range. There's no need to focus on old Latino ladies, for example. Most terrorists are Muslims of Middle Eastern racial extraction, so we can focus on that group instead of little old ladies. It happens to be that most illegal immigrants are of the Latino race (and of Mexican nationality). Let's deal with reality instead of ideal fantasy worlds where race doesn't exist and everyone in the world is a citizen of the USA.

I would think that *unless* Deputy Fife *knew* the occupants of the car were wanted for illegal immigration (NOT why he pulled them over according to the story) OR he *recognized* them and *knew* they were wanted, *after* pulling them over, he is guilty of racial/cultural profiling and should therefore have HIS U.S. citizenship revoked and be banished to live his remaining years in Mexico. Apparently, in Utah, appearing to be of Hispanic origin is PROBABLE CAUSE for Johnny Law to 'INSPECT' (search) that person's 'papers'(please). Germany...1939.
