COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (ABC 4 News) – The royal wedding week has arrived. On Friday Kate Middleton will become a princess and marry Prince William. While the wedding is happening across the pond, Utah’s wedding world is watching and anticipating what this wedding will do for celebrations in Utah.

Robyn Dunn owns the Perfect Dress in Cottonwood Heights. She has dressed a few brides in her time and looks forward to Friday’s celebration. Dunn said, “I am really excited about the wedding. I think these brides think about their weddings forever. Starting as little girls and I think that's going to impact that further."

Robin Saville runs BrideAccess.com and he thinks this will change Utah weddings. He said, “I think that this wedding is so, so grand it is going to give brides and wedding professionals and brides ideas - it will have a positive impact on weddings in Utah."

An impact in two ways: new ideas and money. Saville told ABC4 right now the wedding business is down in Utah, in some cases over 50%. Utah’s Bride Industry hopes Friday’s wedding will put a spark for the grand in a future bride’s eye.

Saville said, “I think the wedding planners will be watching - everyone will be watching, whether you are a wedding planner or not."

We already know a few details about the wedding: location, guest list, the cake. But, we don’t know a thing about the dress.

Dunn over at the Perfect Dress thinks, “A couture A-line cut, with a fitted bodice." Definitely a different look than what we saw during Princess Diana’s wedding. She continued: “If you look back at Diana’s a lot of people still love it - but it was way too much for a small person.”

We will all watch on Friday, ready to take in this royal wedding. Saville said, “This is going to be as big, certainly its not just the us fascination, but Britain, the world is watching."

ABC4 will have all of your Royal Wedding Coverage. Join us Friday morning at 2AM.
