SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah officials are taking action to help you avoid falling victim to scams.
Today kicked-off National Consumer Protection Week at the Salt Lake Library. It's a joint effort by the Utah Department of Commerce, Consumer Protection Division, and the U.S. postal Service. On hand were many victims of scams.
"We are honest people, and I guess I forgot that some people might not be," said scam victim Vicki Adamson. "Sometimes there's no way to tell."
The campaign is meant help Utahns recognize the signs of dishonest offers for goods and services.
This year's theme: "Dollars and Sense" encourages Utahns of all ages to use common consumer sense.
