WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The family of fallen solider Aaron Nemelka is still in shock over the 19-year-old's tragic death at Fort Hood. Nemelka's grandparents tell ABC 4 their grandson loved what he was doing, and was anxious to serve.

The call came just before Midnight on Thursday.  Mike Nemelka tells ABC 4 he had to ask his wife, Gloria, if news that their grandson had died at Fort Hood was true.

"I was shocked," Nemelka said. "His dad called me and we notified the rest of the family."

However, Nemelka says his grandson died doing what he was striving to do, serve his country.

"He was anxious to go," he said. "Had just finished up training, and was a few weeks away from being deployed."
