UTA employee assaulted at TRAX station

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News)- A UTA employee was assaulted by a man on a bike early Tuesday morning.

The assault took place at a TRAX station at 3900 south and 188 west. Police say the victim was approached by a man on a BMX bike. The man asked for some cigarettes, the employee said he didn't have any. The man charged at the employee and began punching him, the employee fought him off.

Police are searching for the suspect. There was no weapon.
