BOUNTIFUL, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Two Jr. high teachers face serious charges over allegations that they had sexual affairs with a teenage boy. 39-year-old Valynne Bowers and 46-year-old Linda Nef were arrested on forcible sodomy of a child and child rape charges on Friday.
According Davis School District spokesperson Chris Williams, the teachers are both employed at Bountiful Junior High School, and one of the women reportedly confessed to having sex with a 13 or 14 year old male student. Nef reportedly told her supervisor about Bowers, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Officials say the alleged crimes happened at Bowers' home since December of 2008. The boy was 13 when the alleged affairs began, and is 14 years old now.
Williams said district officials believe the two teachers and the boy are the only people involved in the case.
Both teachers have been placed on administrative leave.
