WOODS CROSS, Utah (AP) - One of the longest-running year-round schools in the state is changing to a traditional schedule with summer vacation.
Woods Cross Elementary has been on a year-round schedule for nearly 18 years, but that will change starting with the 2009-10 school year.
West Clinton Elementary School, which has had a year-round schedule for five years, also is adopting a traditional schedule.
Chase Rogers, Davis School District planning director, says the schools are moving to a traditional schedule because new schools have absorbed some of the student population.
Rogers says that year-round school costs more and that ideally all schools would be on a traditional schedule.
