OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) – A trial date has been set for Matthew David Stewart.

The trial is scheduled to begin in late April 2014.

Stewart is charged in the shooting death of Jared Francom, an agent with the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force in January 2012.

Stewart opened fire on police during a drug raid and shooting at police, killing an officer.

Prosecutors have said they plan to seek the death penalty against Stewart.

this is so sad, utah rides the drug warwagon well - home invasions nightly over the medicinal hemp plant this veteran grew to help heal his depressions - these goon squads terrorize peaceful homes nightly and there are arrests in this country every minute of every day, no herb of joy for you folks, no healing tumor herb, or natural pain remover with no fear of overdose - not to mention food, fiber and earth friendly fuel - such inhumane and terroring treatment, making criminal out of those who are not criminal - thank goodness the shift to truth and light is occurring but utah will be the last to know, gotta get the druggies, yeah right, but load up on the synthetics that kills every 19 minutes - God bless you Matthew, standing up to homeland terrorism as you were trained to protect
