On May 19th, Thomas Chapman suffered the most horrendous night of his life. The next morning, he escaped, and ran to his sister’s home for help. He was so beaten up; his sister had to make the 911 call for him. Only ABC 4 News got that exclusive audio.
Caller: "he just told me they've been beating him all night long, he showed up at my house at about 4:00 this morning."
Dispatch: "how did he get to your house?
Caller: he walked; he says he ran down here in his underwear"
Thomas was covered in blood and scared as he described to his sister what had happened to him.
Dispatch: "were weapons involved in this?"
Caller: "were weapons? They drilled holes in his body."
Thomas told his sister his roommates used a drimmel to burrow into his skin, but they didn't stop there.
Caller: "he is saying there was a gun involved. Guns and knives"
Thomas told her they also used a stapler, a crutch and a keyboard on him. His sister began describing his injuries to the dispatcher.
Caller: "his ear looks like its split in half; his forehead is sticking out probably 3 inches past where it should be."
At that point in the call, Thomas' mother began trying to clean her son's wounds. A move that was abruptly stopped by his sister.
Caller: "do not do not do not wipe any blood off him, don't. They're going to want to take pictures for evidence. Do not wipe no blood off him momma just let him be"
Thomas’s sister said he was in and out of consciousness, but the whole time, he was upset she had called 911.
Caller: "the reason he don't want me to call the cops is because they said they will kill everyone if the cops are called."
Help arrived moments later. The 6 roommates accused of torturing Chapman never retaliated, they were all arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
