Teen bomb plot suspect could face adult court

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah judge has set a May hearing date to consider whether a 16-year-old boy should be tried as an adult in a plot to blow up his high school.
The Roy High School student is charged in Ogden's 2nd District Juvenile Court with one count of possessing a weapon of mass destruction.
On Wednesday, Judge Janice Frost set May 10 and 11 for preliminary and certification hearings in the case.
Police arrested the teen and 18-year-old Dallin Morgan on Jan. 25 after another student told authorities about a suspected plot to bomb the school during an assembly.
The Associated Press does not typically identify juveniles who are suspects in crimes or charged in juvenile court.
Morgan faces the same charge in adult court. A conviction carries a life sentence.
