SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - As we celebrate Saint Patrick's Day Wednesday, local leaders are asking Utahns to stay safe.

Salt Lake Police, the Utah Highway Patrol, and local taxi companies have teamed up to make sure you don't drink and drive Wednesday night.

"We don't want you to end up talking to one of these individuals standing behind me," said Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Burbank. "We would much prefer to have you celebrate without the police department, sheriff's office or any other agency in the Valley."

Wednesday, many Salt Lake bars and restaurants will have pots full of small green tokens, that can be redeemed for discounted taxi rides home with City cab and Yellow cab.
