SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The dog digs at the Salt Lake County Animal Services shelter just got a little better.

The shelter has added beds in all 82 kennels that will allow the dogs to sleep on something much cozier than the hard, concrete floor.

Shelter director Shawni Larabee says dogs being kept at the shelter are already stressed, so it's nice to be able to provide them some comfort.

A grant from the American Humane Society helped buy the beds and volunteers helped with the assembly and installation.

The bed surface is stretched out between a plastic tubing frame.

The beds are easy to clean and reduce the physical stress the hard floor has on the dogs.
